1. Who we are

Tivo AI is operated by GAPS. We are the data controller for the personal information you provide to the service.

2. What we collect and why

• Account data (email, name, password hash) — to create and secure your account.
• Study content you submit (homework photos, topics, notes, recordings) — to generate the explanations, tests, summaries, and feedback you ask for.
• Usage data (which features you use, weekly counts) — to enforce free-tier limits and improve the product.
• Device and log data (IP address, browser, timestamps) — for security, fraud prevention, and debugging.
• Support messages — to respond to you.

3. Legal basis

We process this data to perform our contract with you (provide the service), to pursue our legitimate interests (security, product improvement), where you've given consent (optional features), and to meet legal obligations.

4. Who we share data with

• Paddle.com — our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles payments, billing, subscription management, tax compliance, and invoicing.
• Service providers — hosting (Supabase / Lovable Cloud), AI providers (Google, OpenAI) that process your prompts to generate responses.
• Authorities — where required by law.

5. International transfers

Some of our providers process data outside South Africa. Where they do, we rely on their published safeguards (standard contractual clauses, regional adequacy).

6. How long we keep data

Account data is kept while your account is active. Study content is kept so you can revisit it. You can delete content or your account at any time, after which we delete or anonymise the data within a reasonable period.

7. Your rights

You can access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, object to processing, and withdraw consent. Email grigorios.sboros@gmail.com to exercise any of these rights. You may complain to the South African Information Regulator if you believe we've mishandled your data.

8. Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls, and standard cloud security practices. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password.

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies for sign-in and session management. We do not use advertising cookies.

10. Children

Tivo is designed for school students. If you're under 18, please use Tivo with a parent or guardian's agreement.
